With the beginning of the year 2019, there has been an announcement of an art project 'AWAKENING', which starts with this music video:
The music is a co-composition of mine and my close friend, who likes to call herself - MariiLu.
As you can hear in the video, the music is mostly based on vocals and some keyboard-synth line melody. The vocals, of course, belong to MariiLu, and the keyboard part was played by me.
We have recorded this piece along the others in one go, while she could listen to herself through the speakers when singing to the mic, and I was in the little studio near by, playing on keyboards. From all the not so long recording, we have looped the best part, which is the one you can hear in the video.
Behind her vocals, there is actually a rather interesting story;
It has been many years, since the last time she touched her voice. When she was younger, she finished Music Academy in Poland, but decided to go towards business first. Her voice was a sacrifice towards the success of making money and later - building a house, in which she decided to create a studio and there - open herself back to singing.
After the divorce with her husband with whom she built the company, before deciding to abandon it, MariiLu one day went to the nearby forest, next to her newly built house on the land near the Polish mountains, and there...she fell asleep. In her sleep, she heard a voice, a beautiful voice that later woke her up right when it was still sounding. It turned out that it was her on voice, and she was singing in real, while dreaming.
This experience, allowed her to open further with her vocals, and later meet me, to properly teach her and record the voices which are going through now.
